I realise that for some, working with a graphic/website designer may be a new experience and therefore a little daunting. I provide a fully transparent design service and don’t believe in trying to baffle clients with complicated terminology. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions from my clients.
If you don’t find the answer your looking for below, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I have a computer and Microsoft Word, why do I need to use a graphic designer?
Your branding and marketing materials are often the first point of contact with potential customers. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression, and therefore your communication materials need to convey the right image. A designer will produce marketing materials that will help to impress your potential customers with the professionalism of your company and the service you offer. By producing your own marketing materials you run the risk of appearing amateurish, meaning the loss of potential customers.
What design services do you provide?
I design everything from logos to content managed websites. Please contact me to discuss your project and design requirements.
How does the design process work, from my initial enquiry, to completion of the job?
I start all my projects by thoroughly discussing the details with my clients. From this discussion I establish the specific requirements and a brief. I believe that client input is a crucial factor to making the project a success. Once I have established the brief, I begin work on the project by researching ideas. These initial ideas are worked into design visuals using the latest graphic/web design software. The design visuals are then forwarded onto the client for feedback. I listen carefully to client feedback, offering solutions and advice to any issues that may arise. If any alterations are required, these are made and the amended visual is resubmitted to the client. This process continues until I receive client approval.
How will I receive the finished design?
Once I have received the final payment, I will supply all electronic files by a Dropbox link. For print jobs, you will also receive high resolution PDFs, which can be taken to a printer of your choice
Will I be able to update these files on my computer?
Unfortunately unless you use an Apple Mac computer with the relevant software, you will not be able to make alterations to the files. The main software packages we use are Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign etc.
Who owns the copyright for the designs you produce?
Copyright for all work carried out by Lisa Jayne Create remains with Lisa Jayne Creative unless specifically requested prior to work commencing in this instance I reserve the right to use any work for promotional purposes.
What are your payment terms?
I require an initial payment of 50% percent of the total fee, before I can commence work on your project. The remainder of the balance is payable upon completion of the job.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept payment in the form of electronic transfer (BAQs), PayPal and credit card.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, if you require a payment plan please contact me for more details.
I need something designing yesterday, is this possible?
Sometimes customers require my services at very short notice. I can usually accommodate rush jobs depending on the size of the project and how full my production schedule is. These jobs are usually subjected to an additional charge on the flat hourly rate.
